According to the Daily Mirror, United have finally landed Lucas Moura after agreeing on a £26 million transfer fee with Sao Paulo. United still need to agree personal terms with Lucas, but I don’t expect that to be an issue.
“Yes, I have told Lucas he should come to Manchester United, of course,” Rafael da Silva said earlier today. “If you saw the way we played at Middlesbrough [against Team GB] you will know Brazilian players can play well in England.”
From what I understand, Lucas is a right-sided attacking midfield player, which is where Valencia plays, and plays so well. Is SAF planning on keeping Lucas there, or is he looking to convert him into a more central player? And if United just spent £26m on Lucas, does that now take them out of the Robin van Persie sweepstakes? And if it doesn’t, could United really spend close to £70m this summer and not buy a classic box-to-box central midfielder?
There us no doubt he is a special player as this video clip shows,
